This gripping activity was developed out of early mountaineering over a century ago. However up North in Finland it wasn’t until the 1980’s, that the pioneering locals began to climb deep in the wilderness of Poisio. To add some excitement to the experience, the first ice climbers would use a lot of self made equipment to achieve their climbing goal. Luckily times have changed and you will be provided with proper, high quality gear for a safe ice climb.
Wondering if you are suitable for the activity? Don't worry - Ice climbing doesn’t require an athlete's physique, years of experience or an extreme mindset. Even a complete beginner and children alike can get started with the help of expert instructors. All it requires is a slight buzz for adventure and a willingness to challenge oneself.
This experience can be enjoyed in various ways: You can have a little go at it and try it for a couple of climbs or dig deeper into the sport and enjoy a longer adventure.
