  • Can everyone drive a snowmobile? And are children able to share a snowmobile with their parents?
    Any person over 18 years who holds a valid driver's license can drive a snowmobile. Children who are over 145cm in height are allowed to sit behind their parents on a snowmobile. However, if they are shorter than 145cm, children will be seated in a sledge pulled behind the guide's snowmobile.
  • Which direction do you drive in Lapland?
    In Finnish Lapland you drive on the right side of the road.

    Usually the first snow fall to the ground around October but often melts away after just a few days. Typically the snow fully covers the ground from December to the beginning of April, of course depending on the temperature and weather conditions of that year.

    No. The glow of the Northern lights can appear in a variety of colors such as green, red, purple, blue and even white, the colors depend on many factors. At times the glow can only be seen through the lens of a camera since the cameras sensor is more sensitive to light and therefore can pick up all the colors, which the human eye is unable to do.

    The frozen waterfalls are located in a nature reserve about a two-hour drive away from Rovaniemi city. The reserve offers a couple of hiking trails for visitors, including a longer trail and a shorther one. Along each of these trails, visitors can view frozen waterfalls of various sizes and unique colors. The track includes a moderate difficulty incline at the end, but is still reccommended for children aged 7 and over.
  • Are spikes necessary during a trip to Lapland?
    Spikes can be attached to the bottom of your shoes and easily removed when necessary. Whether or not they are needed is a personal decision, but if you do decide to use them, they can be purchased at nearly any equipment store in Lapland.
  • What is the duration of daylight hours during the winter season in Lapland?
    During the beginning of winter, from October to January, the duration of daylight hours in Lapland is typically limited to 2-5 hours, with some days having no visible sunrise. However, from February onwards, the days begin to get progressively longer. On the other hand, during the summer season, there is a unique phenomenon where the daylight lasts for a full 24 hours for a period of time.

We always recommend clients to keep their phone in an inner jacket pocket when outdoors. If a phone stops functioning due to the cold, it's advisable to move it to a warmer location until a more temperate area can be reached. Functions will usually come back when the phone has had time to heat up again.
