NORTHERN LIGHTS HUNT

Increase your chances of catching the Northern Lights on special hunt!

Although Lapland is famous for the Northern Lights, witnessing this captivating phenomenon is not as easy as stepping outside your door. Usually, you need to go to a place with clear skies, away from bright lights and find a spot where you can see the Northern sky clearly. If you're a first timer and want to increase your chances of seeing the Northern Lights, it's highly recommended to join a guided Northern Lights Hunt. These guides are experts who know a lot about the Northern Lights and will help you find the best conditions to see them.

During the Northern Lights hunt, you'll go on a journey through the beautiful winter landscape of the North, searching for the elusive Auroras. Your guide will check the weather forecasts and choose the best spots for viewing accordingly. You might have to drive long distances for the best chances to spot the Northern Lights. You'll also learn more about the phenomenon and understand what you're seeing in the sky. The guide's knowledge will give you the best chance of seeing the lights, but it ultimately depends on nature. The hunt can last from 3 to 6 hours, and you might have to move around to different places depending on the changing weather conditions. For some it can be more tiring than a regular.

At Lapland Private, we want to set realistic expectations. The Northern Lights can appear in various forms, sizes, and colors. So, keep an open mind and be patient during your hunt. Even on a clear night with a starry sky and crisp winter air, the Northern Lights might not show up as they don't have a fixed schedule. If you're lucky enough to see them, they may appear as a white glow to the naked eye, while the camera can capture their vibrant colors. But don't worry, your guide will do the best to improve your chances and spot even the smallest activity, ensuring you don't miss a thing.

We recommend the Northern Lights hunt to anyone visiting Lapland and hoping to see the lights. It offers the highest chance of seeing the Northern Lights because of its flexibility. If you're traveling with young children, we suggest considering the Private Northern Lights hunt, which can be customized for the whole family. In addition to the hunt, we also offer other Northern Lights activities, such as the Northen Lights Picnic & Snow shoeing tour.
