What to Expect during your Husky Safari Adventure

On a husky safari, you will visit a local husky farm and learn about the husky Musher lifestyle together with their loyal dogs. You'll ride through snowy forests and open white landscapes on a sled pulled by a team of Alaskan or Siberian huskies. You'll have a chance to sit back and enjoy the ride as well as drive the sled yourself. This iconic Lapland experience is guided throughout, so you can enjoy dog sledding in a safe and well-managed setting.

Your journey usually begins at a husky farm, where you can meet the dogs and learn more about their daily life and training. Before setting off, your guide explains how to handle the sled and what to expect on the trail, making the activity approachable even for first-time riders.

There are different safari formats, from shorter 10 km trails to longer 30 km outings for those who want more time on the trail. Private safaris may also be available from 5 to 40 km, depending on the experience. In most cases, two guests share a sled, taking turns between driving and riding as a passenger. It is also sometimes possible to ride in the guide’s sled if you prefer not to drive yourself.
